The Many Styles of Morgana: A Preseason 8 Rune Guide

Image
Just this past week on Tuesday League of Legends got its big preseason 8 changes, and I know I just did a guide on ranked but I couldn’t help but jump right into the theory building for rune pages. Masteries and runes have been completely melded with a bunch of familiar and some entirely new options. In the season 8 ranked season I plan on switching my roles to Mid and Top so I decided to spend a lot of time making pages for my picks for those lanes and the one I've spent the most time testing out is Morgana: The Fallen Angel. So what didn’t really click in my head before I gave the new runes a really good read is that they're all "adaptive", meaning they adapt to the damage your champion does (physical or magic) so there's tons more wiggle room for what kind of page you can go for. What's optimal though? I'm still not sure and its kind of a low level of play mentality to have but I enjoy thinking about what could be. Hungry, Hungry Morgana

A Low Elo Guide to League of Legends by Kaptain Kaster

League of legends is a world renowned game with millions of players in its player base. We all start out the same; confused and fumbling trying to understand the idea of a moba, items and specific champion abilities and its always a journey. There so much to learn and after you start improving even a little its an incredibly rewarding feeling. We get a little confident after we win some games and decide to take on the monster that is ranked, and a lot of us get stuck at the very bottom. We get frustrated and don’t understand why. More times than not we blame the people around us and League of Legends has become known as a toxic community because of it. I've been playing this game for a good four years, and have got 4k (ranked and normals) games under my belt and I've learned a lot. This guide is a general outline for climbing ranked solo q based on all the information I've gathered from the countless and sometimes misleading resources about League of Legends. My genui

Ni No Kuni and The Wizards Companion

Image
Ni No Kuni is a JRPG game that was a collab between Level 5 and studio Ghibli, that's actually a creature capture game even though it doesn't look like it. You play as Oliver a boy from another world traveling the land to learn how to be a great wizard so he can defeat the evil djinn Shadar. The creature capture in this game is grueling to say the least with some of even the earliest "familiars", the creatures roaming the land that you can befriend and add to your team, having a recruit rate as low as 8% in the case of the Green Buncher who you meet in the third area you explore in the story.  The world to this game is vibrant and colorful and completely supported by the simple yet intriguing designs and art style of studio Ghibli. Were even spoiled with 2D animated cut-scenes every now again. Ni No Kuni is regarded for its Unique story, It's Great visuals, and its JRPG combat system, but something else stuck out to me more. Something I think

Yokai Watch 2 Competitive Scene: "I'm here for the cute stuff"

Image
Just a few days ago I was on the Mt. Wildwood discord server and it turns out they're having their first weekly tournament. I entered and started building a team with the new additions from the big Oni 2.0 update. Link to my team Its this cool idea where I use stronger version (or S rank versions) of the mascot yokai that can bash the enemy with  "Soultimate" moves (a yokais strongest move) that do damage to all yokai out on the front line.  I really like Yokai Watch in general for its goofy lighthearted approach to spooky spirit creature capture and battling definitely has its potential. Since you can't directly tell yokai what to do during battle there's a lot of focus on team building and basing your team around a balanced idea, that actually ends up leading to some pretty aesthetically pleasing wheels (symmetry), and some entertaining strats. The other cool thing, that’s not really an in game thing is the obscurity of team building becau

Hello World! Hello everyone and welcome to Moonlit Monitor a blog about my experience, thoughts and tons of ideas on all things video game! My name is Marcus, but my chosen Alias for some time is KaptainKaster. I've all about games since way back to Sonic for Sega, but as I got older it became a passion. I loved the idea of games and the impact they can have on entire communities of people. Now i'm aspiring to develop them. It's safe to say that gaming is my life in the best of ways and I've got more thoughts on them than I could ever express but I'm here to try my best anyways. I'll be talking a lot about different things from mechanics in game, to game stories, to competitive games i play and their meta's as well as my journey making games. Some of my favorite series that you'll probably see me mention are Dark Souls, Kingdom Hearts, Pokemon, Yokai Watch, League of Legends, and more. Hope you stick around for the ride, my thoughts will always be here
